Has anyone gotten a spray tan from a salon? Does it look real?

I'm fair and really ruined my skin spending most of my 35 years in the sun. I grew up on the beach and spent most of the winters being home schooled down south. I'm starting to get age spots. Surprisingly, no wrinkles! However, I want to start treating my skin well not just for beauty's sake but for the possibility of skin cancer. I'm just afraid that those salon tans will look fake! I've used sunless products at home (even very expensive ones) and they don't look real.Has anyone gotten a spray tan from a salon? Does it look real?
my mom did it and now she is super dark and little orange. i wouldn't reccomend it, but i do recomend that gradual tanning stuff..Has anyone gotten a spray tan from a salon? Does it look real?
I just used spray tan this past weekend for my first time with a friend and I am very pale and she is a little darker then me

we both went in and turned orange and the color hasnt came off completely yet, Its been coming off blotchy and its awful. It does not look real at all and were both orange! I do not recommend it

Try some self tanning lotions, they work out better!

good luck and please answer my question

http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind鈥?/a>
I had it done for prom and it turned out extremely well for me but that might be because i'm so very light already. If you are dark it might turn kind of orange...i have seen some very bad ones....

if you do it have a PERSON do it. don't go into a spray tanning booth...it may turn nasty.

What are some good nationwide beauty salons where you can go in and look like a celebrity?

They will do your hair, make up, and dress. They will also consult you on celebrity beauty products. What are some good nationwide beauty salons where you can go in and look like a celebrity?
Well I don't know of any franchises or salon chains that can have those creditentials. The only way to go to a place to look like a celebrity is if that place frequently caters to celebrtieis, thus Hollywood / Los Angeles. Most salons, assuming they are professional, you could take a pic of a celebrity and they should be able to recreate that look for you. They should be well aware of the all products on the market but most of the well known shops in Hollywood usually carry their own brand of products. You could call around and ask if they have had celebrity clientele. Most beauty parlors in my area don't deal with clothes but it is simple to go to current fashion clothing store followed by trip to the salon thus the finished product would be similar to that of Hollywood.

  • I just had highlights done by a salon, and they look aweful, what should I do?!?

I had my hair highlighted today at a pretty expensive salon (which I thought would do a good job since they were so expensive....the highlights themselves were about 90 bucks) Well they look absolutely horrible...by far the worst ';blonde'; highlights i've ever had. They are not evenly streaked at all, and there is a huge chunk of blonde hairlight on the back of my head that doesn't go all the way down....I wanted to cry when I got home. I feel bad going back to the salon to tell them to fix it, and I don't want to insult the girl who did them....Should I go back to the salon, or just go to walmart and buy some dye to color it back to my naturally color..I just had highlights done by a salon, and they look aweful, what should I do?!?
Go back to the salon. I'm the same way, I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. But you really need to go back if it looks bad. It's not fair that you spent all of that money and came in out of your time to their business and the girl did a horrible job. I'm pretty sure they'll fix it. So yeah, go back!I just had highlights done by a salon, and they look aweful, what should I do?!?
Go back to the salon. For 90 bucks you deserve what you asked for. You can either do that or go to walmart and buy scissors and lop off you hair. Short hair is the best!
Go back! For $90 you should def. go back. Who cares if u insult her, its your hair, not hers.
Go to the salon, for 90$ I'd teach the girl a lesson. ;s
well this girl needs to learn and get it right so just go back
Next time when you try out a new salon make sure to specify and describe in great detail the type of streaks you want...different salons do different sized streaks by default (meaning if you dont explain)...some do ';edgy'; asymmetrical streaks, some do tiny streaks, or some count ';chunking'; as streaking so always specify what kind and the exact shade you need and the exact thickness or width of the streaks you want (as best you can describe them)

personally I think Id just wait a few days then dye everything back to my normal hair color, then try another salon later, of course if I didn't like the streaks the day of I wouldve mentioned something about them not looking ';how I imagined'; and asking them to fix them before shelling out the 90 bucks

but you could always go back and ask although they may charge you to do them over or ';fix'; them. If you're really nice anmd not rude about it they might not charge much or anything at all

Maybe you should try layers or side bangs. Layers you can do a lot of things with, and you can wear bangs down or pin them up!I WIll be going to the salon soon, what hair styles will look gOOd?
If you enter a search for styles for face shapes you will find a site that will guide you, also some of them you can send photo and see yourself with hairstyle.
It depends totally on your age and the shape of your face.
My face is kind of heart shaped too at the bottom, because my chin is kind of small. My hair is a very dark brown (looks black) and I just wear it long and straight. (It's well past my shoulders)
If you like what you have stay with it and just get it trimed.

Tanning salon..how do you look the longer you stay in..tanning salon details please!!!?

I find that it ridiculous that White people actually pay to get skin cancer! (I have never seen an Asian, Latino, Chicano, American Indian or Black person visit a tanning salon.) Tanning isn't healthy! It's skin damage. Why don't you just go lay out in the sun? Most people look awful when they go to tanning salons. They look orange instead of tanned? I saw a woman take her what looked like a 6 or 7 week old baby into the nail salon?

i would never do that if i had to i would have him and my SO wait for me in a cool car while i got my nails done there are so many fumes in there

have you ever done it would you?I saw a woman take her what looked like a 6 or 7 week old baby into the nail salon?
I wouldn't take Jewellyssa in their neither. When she was about 4weeks old my grandmother watched her so I could go get my nails done. A few days later I was at my mothers and one broke off. (I bite my nails VERY bad before I got pregnant and I have now quit) so I ran by to see if they could fix it. She said in the car with my grandmother and my sister. I guess when it comes down to my daughter having to breath in those chemicals Id rather someone watch her. If I cant get that, then my nails do not need to be done.

    - je蠅e鈩撯創褔ss伪's 屑伪屑伪 *;I saw a woman take her what looked like a 6 or 7 week old baby into the nail salon?
Nope, I haven't had my nails done since before DJ was born (and even then it was before I knew I was pregnant) and have no plans to get them done again until I go back to work when he's 3. Until then, I just have my plain boring nails. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to but it's a financial thing. Anyway, I would be sure to get a sitter for an outing like that. There are WAY too many fumes for a baby!
Yep I have. When my son was 2 months old. He was sleeping in his carseat.

Daddy was out to sea and my best friend came to visit from out of town. We got pedicures. Was in there for about 45 mins.

    Baby was fine!

Now I would never leave my son in the car alone! You can get in trouble for that, you know?

ETA: Oh..I thought you said leave the baby in the car alone not with your hubby. LOL sorry. It's been a long day.
They are pretty stinky. I would not let my baby sit by me if I was getting acrylics on or anything but she has sat by me in her stroller while my mom %26amp; I got our pedicures. I am paranoid and overprotective but I deemed that completely harmless.

I did walk into a hair salon my grandma goes to where all the old people get perms and stuff...now that was some dangerous fumes! I walked right outa there.
Most of those places are pretty ventilated and they are constantly have fans running.

I wouldn't worry about the fumes as much as I would entertaining my baby while getting my nails done. That can be a 30-45 minute 'job' depending on what exactly you're getting done.
I took Braden while I got a pedicure when he was 5 months old. It was well ventilated in there and I wasn't worried about it. At that age he was easily entertained though and could sit up on my lap or in the stroller and play. I don't think I would have taken him at 6-7 weeks.
i would. the baby isn't exposed to it every day all day so im sure it is fine. i was in a nail salon friday and i hardly smelled the fumes. i would rather have my son in the salon than be in a car for 45 min with a risk of being exposed to carbon monoxide.
I don't even go into nail salons because *I* don't want to subject myself to the fumes. Nail salon workers have higher rates of cancer.

I even speed by the entrance to nail salons if I'm walking in the mall.
I took my son when he was a little over two months, I got a pedicure and he slept on my chest. Seemed fine to me, it was a brand new place and super clean/nice. Didn't seem too fumey.
Ma just files her nails on my sanding block. *sigh* and the world wonders why sickness is ravaging babies like a gator during a full moon.
I wouldn't do it either. It stinks in those places!

Besides, I don't have the desire to get my nails done right now. Its extra money and takes time!
    I haven't, but not to say I wouldn't.

Why not? Smelling that for a small amount of time isn't going to hurt anyone.
I agree. The nail salon and salon have very strong fumes that can make any newborn sick. Its sad how others just don't care, I have seen some who smoke in front of their babies.
Well you wouldn't catch me in a nail salon ever.... But yes, I would take them. Generally, if she's in the car seat she's asleep - so why not?
I've gone in and gotten my eyebrows waxed with my son. Just a few minutes.. no harm done!

If I want my hair to look exactly like this, what do I ask for at the salon?

    http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b340/w鈥?/a>

My hair is a couple inches below my shoulders and not this long, but I still have some length to play with...basically I want it all one length with just the ends rounded off exactly like the photo. They refer to it as the U shape but is there a more technical term? Is this considered Tapered or something else? I don't want any choppy layers because I still want to be able to pull it all back if needed

ThanksIf I want my hair to look exactly like this, what do I ask for at the salon?
The picture does not look like there is any layering. You can opt for some longer layers if you want. The ends are just cut in a rounded shape. It is not tapered either.Tapered is when the hair that frames the sides of the face is angled , and blended into the length. If I want my hair to look exactly like this, what do I ask for at the salon?
just tell her u want it rounded at the bottom.. she'll kno wat u mean!
That's a very simple cut, just print out that photo and show it to your stylist, and he/she will know exactly how to cut it, when in doubt always ask a professional !!!!
The technical term for it is a solid form with a diagonal back. It just means that it's all one length, no layers, but the back is slightly longer than the back.
If I were you IO would just print out the picture just to make sure they know what you mean and just ask for a U-Shape when oyu flip all your hair behind your shoulders.
just bring in the picture in the salon, and tell them that... ,
it just looks liek it is basically straight hair with the ends curled under with a large barrel curling iron.. nothing special.. no special cut or anything
    there is no technical names,

    just say you want '; U- shape hair cut';
Tell her you want to look like cousin IT
Just ask your stylist to round you ends.Best to take the picture if you can....that way your sure the two of you are on the way page!

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family %26amp; color name, the ';painted'; rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

    http://www.sherwin.com/visualizer/

I think a pink like ';grenadine'; (# 6592) might be a good choice.

You can also take a photo of your house %26amp; upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

    http://www.roomvues.com/

You can get color suggestions %26amp; for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
Go with silver on the walls and add black and red accents. Also don't clutter it with alot of decorations. Less is more!

I do not know what I want yet...Looking for a really good hair salon in Lower Westchester County, NY...a trendy, cool place.?
honey, you live half an hour away from the city. seriously, just take the metronorth in. i used to live in tarrytown, and i went to a salon called mudhoney in soho. it's on sullivan betweeen houston and prince, and it's $75 for a cut - which is about the same (if not better than) any prices you'll find in westchester. it's a totally cool rocker-type place, but is by no means only for the adventerous, kelly ripa was in there when i was getting my hair done once, and she's not exactly hardcore or anything. plus, you have an excuse to go into the city. what more could you ask for?

I am not sure that it would have been sold in a salon unless maybe the owner was a consultant but Mary Kay makes a fantastic moisturizer called Intense Moisturizing Cream. It is pink. My daughter has just finished cosmetology school and is looking to get into a great salon any job suggestions?

she is very talented andi think she will really go far in this industry.she loves working with color and any type of makup along with hair.she would love to do runway work tooMy daughter has just finished cosmetology school and is looking to get into a great salon any job suggestions?
I would strongly recommend she look into a salon that has additional education or assistant programs, although it sux to be an assistant the extra education can be priceless. It not only gives you better perspective, it helps to train your ';eye'; as well as gives you an ';in'; with other high end salons if you decide to work somewhere else when you're finished. My daughter has just finished cosmetology school and is looking to get into a great salon any job suggestions?
If I were her I would go into the store there that sells to Cosmotologists only...here it is State Beauty Supply (which is where I work) They should know of any places that are hiring and some info on what type of clients they get there.

    Good luck.
I suggest that she get into a high end salon with lots of traffic around. Starting fresh from beauty school is very tough. It will take up to 5 years to build a clientele big enough to be able to support herself on that income alone. If she gets into a high end salon she has a better chance of walkins and people in the area calling to get appointments. Most of the stylists at higher end salons have been in the industry for a long time and she will be able to learn a lot from them.

The iPod Touch you found will most likely never find its owner. if he bought something in our salon you must have his number in your database.

So after removed my solar (fake) salon nails. how do i make them look less crappy without going to the salon?

since everyone says after you remove them they look super ugly. and for how long???So after removed my solar (fake) salon nails. how do i make them look less crappy without going to the salon?
After I took mine off they looked really ugly. Because when they (the salon) uses that electric buffer on your nails they are taking some of your real nail off, then you have that glue all over them too. Your nails will probably hurt some too. This is what I did. I soaked them for about 10 min in warm soapy water. then used a soft buffer. I also got some Sally Hansen hard as nails which you can get at Walmart. I found that it made my nails stronger so they didn't hurt as bad, and just kept them polished until they started to look better which was a couple of months. So after removed my solar (fake) salon nails. how do i make them look less crappy without going to the salon?
you need to re grow them so they are healthy again

this takes 3 - 6 months to do

be patient...i bought this nail solution and it works wonders!!!!

    http://www.amazon.com/Nailtiques-Protein鈥?/a>
Buff and file then paint with clear polish.
good luck! Its a trap so you keep going to the salon, they will look horrible unless you get them done again
get rid of all excess glue on your nails... and to cover up their ';uglyness'; nail polish works wonders... that's what my mom did after getting fake nails.
Be very careful with them. Use a good sheer nail polish (like a pale peachy-pink) and then use some Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails. This will look much prettier and will really strengthen your nails. Any time I've ever had my nails done they stayed thin and brittle for a few weeks but taking good care of them really helped!

I am AFro American looking for a salon in Singapore to relax my hair. Help?

I love curly hair...why not go for a product that will work with the climate?I am AFro American looking for a salon in Singapore to relax my hair. Help?
Hey sister! Unless you know of, heard of, word of mouth and good results from someone there in Singapore on a great salon, then I would relax my hair myself. When it comes to your hair, well that's the most important outer layer on a female, is her hair. You don't want some foreigner messing it up, then where would you be.

There are tons of recipes out there that you can make up yourself and get some fantastic results. Do the natural and organic and safe way to treat your hair. Molasses is wonderful on dark hair. It's sticky and gooey and a mess to use, but the final results are WOW! It'll leave your hair smooth and soft and shiny. Honey works out very well on lighter hair and gives the same results.

You could also try olive oil, heated and applied to your hair. That helps the frizzies and the ends of your hair, and will relax it a bit.

Here are some sites I've found, hopefully they'll be able to assist you further.

And, regarding your hair, well ';it's for your hands only,'; or you could be walking out looking like one of those sumo wrestlers. Not a pretty site!I am AFro American looking for a salon in Singapore to relax my hair. Help?

  • Can a salon create this look?

so i just posted a question. a lot of answers asked how i will get this look. i'm wondering if a salon can create this look for me. this is the hair style. http://s667.photobucket.com/albums/vv35/cutie_pie2014/?action=view%26amp;current=ninashair.jpg

do you think a hair salon can create this look with like a perm or something? Can a salon create this look?
It all depends on your natural hair texture. Very loose curls like this are put in with hot tools. A perm would give you a tighter curl or a wave (even with large rods) which is not the look you're going for.

If your hair is naturally pretty straight then all you need is the cut. It's easy enough to put in these loose curls on a day to day basis, your stylist will show you how.

Edit: Response to PM: You can try a couple of things - either deal with straightening your hair every day, and then using your straightener or a large barrel curling iron create the loose curls, or have your hair chemically relaxed or chemically straightened (these can be two different things) and just worry about putting in the loose curls everyday.

Chemical relaxing is most commonly used on ebony hair, but it works fine for all curly and kinky hair types. It will relax the curl to the point that it will be slightly wavy (but not straight!)

Can be damaging, but it's not too bad if you go to the right salon.

Chemical straightening (also called the japanese straightening method) is a treatment that uses a flat iron- like tool to permanently straighten the hair. This can be very damaging, but there is one line I know of that does not use formaldehyde - Pravana. So call around to local salons to see who offers this service. It is more expensive than relaxing, but there's no need to straighten every day. They can also permanently texturize your hair with this service to make it slightly curly at the ends - but you need to make sure you're going to a stylist who knows his/her stuff. Can a salon create this look?
Not with a perm. That is barely considered curls. With a curling Iron. Yeah. They can do whatever hairstyle you want.

The Gibson Girl was known as the century's first pin up. First sketched by Charles Dana Gibson in 1902, this imaginary woman was to represent the ideal woman. She became known as the liberated young woman with the characteristic upswept hairdo. Created using a combination of the Marcel wave and postiche, the Gibson Girl look was to last a quarter of a century. The hair style consisted of a soft pompadour, puffed for a cloud effect, rolled from temple to temple over a horsehair rat to give it the width that went well with a tiny waist.

The Gibson Girl look became immortalized by the stage idol, Lillian Russell.

Creating innovative Beauty salon, doing market research-What services are you looking for?

    A couple additional questions-

When is the last time you've been to a beauty salon?

What was it for? (style change, touch up, special event--wedding..etc)

What services did you get done?

Did you have to go to multiple places to get what you were looking for (example- going to tanning salon, to gym, to hair salon..etc)

What you be interested in a one stop shop salon? A place that offered traditional beauty services as well holistic healing services, accupuncture, tattoo, gym..etcCreating innovative Beauty salon, doing market research-What services are you looking for?
I would like a salon that provided stylists who were able to give a simple haircut and not leave the person with hair that needs to be recut. The last time I went to a salon, the ';stylist'; did a very poor job cutting my hair and I had to go to another place to get my hair recut to even it out. It seems that the stylist was trying to give me a new style with long hairs throughout the cut (it was a very long time ago) and as a result I am very suspicious of getting a cut done at a salon. I know that one friend likes to get her nails made up while she is getting her hair styled and colored. Another friend likes to get a massage from a salon. I personally am a very simple person, who because of cancer is not allowed to get a massage, my nails are very short - I have very young children and long nails just don't last and I don't color my hair. Good luck with your place. If you are wanting to get children in - one lady who cuts my hair now has a very good business idea - she charges $5 for a young child's hair cut (6 and under) and then when the children grow up she knows that the children will still come to her for everything because she worked on their hair when they were young. Also by making it affordable for children - moms come back too. It is working she has a lot of business coming through. If you decide to work on little children you only need 1 ';fun'; chair and lollipops to keep the children happy while you cut. Remember little children are also in weddings (flower girls) and they often need their hair fixed for the wedding! So you only need to have a small area set up for little children not a large one and the children will be yours too.Creating innovative Beauty salon, doing market research-What services are you looking for?

How to cut my hair MYSELF without a salon to look like this?

Ok...I'm posting this again because the first time I got an answer from an immature little 14 year old who saying I should stop wanting a hairstyle 'I cant have' because I cant afford to go to a salon.

Anywho...Yeah, please DO NOT ANSWER SAYING I NEED TO GO TO A SALON. I DO NOT WILL NOT AND CANNOT GO TO A SALON. Understand? No money...none, bills must be paid and since I know people cut their own hair, I need tips on how to cut my hair similiar to the links I'll post.

I love her hairstyle and would something similiar to it.

I have bit longer than shoulder length hair with thinnish bangs that I usually sweep to the side.

I just want the thicker more versatile bangs and the razory layers.

But I need tips how to do it with just regular hair cutting scissors. My mom will be cutting my hair for me because she's cut our familys hair for years so she knows pretty much what she's doing.

But again, please for the love of whatever religious icon you believe in or for Petes sake DO NOT TELL ME TO GO TO A SALON. Get your two points elsewhere.

i think usually when they cut bangs they don't cut horizontally, that'll give you a blunt bang. have your mom cut your bangs with the scissors vertical. it should give your bangs a bit of a layered look. if you do actually have a razor blade (not a razor that you'd use to shave your legs) take it and push down on your bangs and go down. so... she'll need to hold your bangs out a bit when she does this. make sure she lightly presses down on your bangs so that the layers come out nicer. you won't want a chunk of bangs being one length, then the rest of it another. it's kind of something that can only be done once because if she cuts them with the razor blade and its a little bit too long then she won't have any or much hair to hold on to to cut your bangs again.

hopefully this helps and makes sense.

My hair is now white!!! what is the process (in salon) to get it more natural looking again?

How do I now go back to maybe a tint or foils with a colour change... more natural lookingMy hair is now white!!! what is the process (in salon) to get it more natural looking again?
Your doing the right thing by going to a natural colour with foils.

The first colour that you will probably get foiled in is Ash Blonde, however depending on your skin tone it could be a dark blonde as dark blonde is a warmer colour. They will only use dark blonde if they think the ash will wash you out.

Then the next time you visit the salon you will probably get light brown foils and they will put some more ash blonde through just so it isnt too drastic.

It took me about 11 months to go from white blonde to dark brown, but that was all-over brunette.

Take some pictures in of the blonde colours and tones you like, and ask if they could be worked in.

    Good luck =]

I want to color my hair. will this color look nice on me? should i get it don at a salon or at home?

Well i would like to color my hair. im thinking of gettign it done at a salon. sicne i have NEVER colored my hair before. i have medium to dark brown hair. olive green eyes and pale skin. i want my hair color to be a deep chesnut/red color. . shoudl i do this at home? my mom colors her hair all the time. shoudl she do it for me? or shoudl i go to the salon so they can bleach it and color my hair there? Also what would maitenence be like? would the roots be THAT visible so i would need to keep going in for touch ups?

thank you. i have asked this questoin a few times earlier but it hastne been posting...

thank you!I want to color my hair. will this color look nice on me? should i get it don at a salon or at home?
I use to experiment for years with do-it-yourself hair coloring. It never seemed to come out the color I wanted or expected. I did try the temporary dyes as well, and they do give you some idea if you are considering a drastic change. I finally started going to my hair stylist for highlights about 5 years ago and have never stopped. It is so worth the money to have it done right and to know that someone will let you know if the color is right for your skin tone. What I did was asked someone for whom I really liked their hair color, ';who does your hair?'; Then I made an appointment. It's been a match in heaven ever since.

Good luck!I want to color my hair. will this color look nice on me? should i get it don at a salon or at home?
I think if you would like to dye your hair, thats great and you should go for it.

Salons use milder dyes that usually last longer and are more gentle, less corrosive and damaging to your hair, so if it is your first time, and if it involves any bleach at all, make sure you go to a salon.
Go with a brand like Natural Instincts that is only semi-permanent the first time you color your hair. It will wash out in about 20 shampoos. If you like it, buy a similar color in a permanent formula. If you don't, you haven't made the big commitment. Most home color products are easy to use, although you may want your mom or a friend to help the first time. A little hint--mix in a couple of tablespoons of conditioner into the color solution. This will give you a deep condition while you color.

I colored my hair for years, and yes, roots are a problem. Remember that you will need to maintain them every 4-6 weeks. I finally got tired of doing it and went back natural. Good luck-- I think you should at least try a semi-permanent color, just to find out if you like it.
go to a salon, they'll take care of your roots

I never heard about parisa, but I can recommend Ivanka's. She is an European married to a local and offerers a very good service for a reasonable price. I am with her for years and I am satisfied. Her salon is located across from Emirates Media.

If your are an Expat living in Abu Dhabi you should avoid hairdressers at Hotels. They are much to expensive than locals. Ivanka takes care of her European customers herself.

HELP! Never been to a hair salon before; always got it cut at home. What should I look for when going to one?

It is awsome if you find a good salon and stylist you trust. Be ready to choose the right style for yourself and be firm on what YOU want. Don't let them take over and change your ideas. They also might try to help with different ideas. Ask the price and make your decision upon what you can afford. Love the time and visit with your sylist. Your hair will be washed, cut, colored (if you choose) styled and you will be ahhhh so beutiful!!!! Smile and do the walk!!Have a fun day!HELP! Reputation, hair safety(tools, techniques), environment(lots of distractions not good), and time it takes for stylist to get to you.HELP! Never been to a hair salon before; always got it cut at home. What should I look for when going to one?
make sure that the other customers leaving there dont have bald patches
talk to the person and make sure your comfortable with them, and that they are willing to take the time to listen to your concerns and suggestions... if they dont wanna spend their time talking to you and finding out what you REALLY want dont let them near your hair!!
ask your friends who go to different places if they like where they go and if they reccommend it, and also check out their haircuts and see if you like them

    Hello!

I would recommend a HOME stylist. A mobile hairdresser. they wont charge any more than a salon, if not, less and they do an absolutely fantastic job. find someone who has experience with weddings, most of them will have. they even do an extremely cheap trial run.

they come to your home and will do your bridesmaids too if you want them to. that way you dont have to travel anywhere, your in the comfort of your own home, you have more control over what they are doing because they communicate with you better....

    and they will do sundays!

congrats and I hope everything goes amazingly!

Looking for hair salon in N.Carolina?

I just moved to Mount Holly, NC from California and I am desperately looking for a hair salon that does good highlights / low lights. I'm looking for a salon that is trendy and knows how to do the dark and light streaks without damaging the already blonde hair. My hair isn't in the greatest of shape from years of bleaching and dying BUT I need my roots done terribly. I get so nervous trying to find someone to do my hair that won't damage it any further. If anybody knows anywhere in the Mount Holly / Belmont / Gastonia area I would greatly appreciate. Thank you so much.Looking for hair salon in N.Carolina?

i have dirty blonde hair and dont have much money to spend. i want to have my hair dyed in a salon to a light blonde.

what kind of cost will i be looking at? (my hair is just below the shoulder)How much am i looking at for a full blonde hair colour in my hair, from a salon?
at mine it would be $70 with a tip.

if you want to save money you could try doing it yourself. probably $15-20 depending on the thickness of your hair. How much am i looking at for a full blonde hair colour in my hair, from a salon?
it depends wether they would do an all over tint or hi lights. if your hair is already blond then i would recommend havin a full head of bleach hi lights. this would be beter as the re growth sint as obvious so you would ahve less oftern trips to the salon and therefore save money. it could cost you between $60 - $100 depending on where you go.
most places probably between 40-80 bucks. Not too much since your hair is already blonde. They will just need to lighten it and they may be able to just do all over color.
Whatever color ou hair is, it will still use the same amount of dye so it's about $80-$90 where I live

    Hope this helps x

    A-Line?

Oh!! Nope never heard of it, but I know what you are referring to! I don't really think that style will look right with long hair. If you really like that style than do it short, if not than leave your hair long and add some front layers with assymetrical bangs (side bangs). You can also do your hair to one side and have that side cut into layers, while the other side stays long.

I'm looking for POSITIVE advice on Salon Tanning. Can you help me out?

I'm going on Sunday for my first time. Fair skinned and burn easily in the natural sun. Do I really need to buy the creams they sell at the salon for $50.? Or will regular moisturizers work just as good? What gives the better tan...stand up or beds?

Help me!! :)I'm looking for POSITIVE advice on Salon Tanning. Can you help me out?
Don't go for the 20 minutes the first, second, third, etc. to tan. When you go the first few times , just tan for about 6-7 minutes and gradually work your self up each time by a couple of minutes. cover your sentive areas(ones not exposed to sun at all). Those areas will burn easily.

For your creams, just go to Wal-Mart or anywhere else. They do good as the ones your buy at the salon, but cheaperI'm looking for POSITIVE advice on Salon Tanning. Can you help me out?
As soon as you start to feel your skin toasting (6 minutes in my case) get out of the tanning booth/bed.
Don't buy the creams, you'll get skin cancer for free.
You don't need the creams, but do take it easy the first time tanning if you are fair skinned. Also, using a good moisturized will help keep you skin from drying out.
I wouldnt buy the 50 dollar kind the first time. that works well but you can get some for like 10 or 12 bucks at a beauty supply store.. (SALLYS if you have that in your area) you can also get little samples at the salon. make sure you just tan for no more than 10 mintutes at first on LOW heat and the bed with less bulbs. then just go everyother day at first. then increase the time you go. i hope this helps.
I would use the tanning lotions that they sell. And I would only start going for 5 minutes the first week. Then go up from there. After tanning keep your skin moisturized with good lotion. As for Tanning in stand up or a bed. I perfer bed just cause I go for 20 minutes at a time. But I do go into a stand up at least once a week. to get the areas that the bed don't get.
You can buy the creams from walmart.they will tell you there lotion is better,so it will line their pockets.
Airbrush tanning is great! The tan look without all the skin damage from UV rays. Plus you don't get the problems of self-tanning lotions (although Jergens natural glow stuff is great). Wear sunscreen when you go outside so you don't burn and help prevent wrinkles and skin cancer.

If you're planning to go be under UV lamps at the salon, don't! That little time spent under those lamps is equivalent to 8 hours of being in the sun.
Take copper supplements. They work really well. And a few good things about tanning is that it clears up acne, and makes you look thinner.
just a word of warning! gotta lady friend who's been using sun beds for the last 15/20 years, you can see the ageing affect on her now, i was kinda shocked.

Im looking for a hair salon rthat does hair extensions below 100 bucks??

do you guys know any hair salons for example lets say my hair is up to my shoulders and i want it below my boobs and how much would that costIm looking for a hair salon rthat does hair extensions below 100 bucks??
try finding a beauty college...these are senior year students supervised by licensed instructors/hair stylists. They usually run between 1/4-1/2 the price of a regular salon, and they get their hands on experience as well as make their tip money from people like you. I had my wedding day hairdo done at a beauty college, and it was well worth it! I've had them do braids, dyes, cuts, acrylic nails, massages, etc...and I've never had a bad experience.Im looking for a hair salon rthat does hair extensions below 100 bucks??

What does a client look for in a salon.day spa?

im trying to start up a day spa in my familys hair salon and i need to know what clients like and what they want. What does a client look for in a salon.day spa?
from my personal experience..The two don't really mix well. So I would separate to two.. The vibes are on two different levels. The salon is really upbeat a little more louder music. The spa should have more of a serene atmosphere. What does a client look for in a salon.day spa?
Atmosphere!!! People go to spas to get pampered and to relax, so the place should provide both of those things. Also having lots of packages is a great way to entice people to come in! Like if they buy a package a certain price....they get a manicure for free ect...

Your core target is women, so even having a suggestion box at the salon for ideas will help you! Look into getting a massage therapist too!

I'm looking to buy a Salon & Spa. What questions should I ask the owners.?

In planning your first salon you should budget for the best quality equipment you can possibly afford and that major equipment items offer sufficient flexibility to encompass the full range of therapies and treatments that you envisage offering, both initially and as your business develops.

The design of your key equipment, a treatment couch or chair should provide for client comfort and an effective treatment; it should also afford a safe and comfortable working environment for the therapist. The working height of a couch is most important and couches may need to be at varying heights to suit your staff. A flexible alternative is the hydraulic or electric couch - these can be quickly and easily adapted to suit individual treatments. Correct posture for a seated therapist is vital and ergonomic seating contributes to the welfare of the practitioner.

Most heavy-duty static couches are multi-functional and will be suited to a variety of treatments. If you are diversifying over a number of therapies, you should know that beauty equipment offering the comfort of thick padding may not be so well suited to massage or manipulative work which requires the firm support of higher density foam.

If space is at a premium a single major piece of equipment can be adapted to many disciplines. A top specification electric couch will be strong enough for heavy massage and sufficiently flexible to convert to a chair for foot and beauty work.

Further versatility for manipulation treatment may be offered where the design of the couch provides a lifting leg or knee elevation or sectioned to provide both a positive and negative tilt facility offering a wide variety of treatment positions for massage therapy, medical application and also useful in leg waxing and foot treatments. Where you are buying from the manufacturer you may be able to specify the dimensions of your major equipment item so that it is customised to your needs.

Where the full range of equipment and accessories is available from a single supplier you may coordinate items in terms of material, colour and finish, giving an overall effect of harmony and uniformity. Major manufacturers should offer you an extensive range of choice.

Buying the least expensive couch may be a false economy. Such items become shabby quite quickly and will not be sufficiently robust to withstand the demands of a busy salon. If your budget is tight then my advice is to buy quality items that are relevant to your initial needs and as your business prospers, you can gradually enhance your facilities. You are offering a professional service and the investment in equipment should reflect this fact; a quality image will result in customer and employee satisfaction which will give you the return on investment.

Make sure you plan to purchase your equipment well enough in advance, one of the most common statements made to our sales consultants is “I’m opening in 2 weeks time and I am looking for a complete salon suite”!.

Ground work can be carried out well in advance, as long as you have your treatment plans in place you can begin your search for the right equipment to encompass the treatments your salon will be offering, even before you have your premises. Also take into account your longer term business plan and choose equipment that will grow with your business and be able to adapt to perhaps more treatments being introduced as you progress.

Your colour scheme can also be planned well in advance so when you are ordering your equipment you know what finish /colours will match your overall design. e.g. wooden natural theme, clinical colours, or corporate colours.,etc

For your main equipment, such as electronic couches /tables/plinths, treatments chairs you must allow at least 4-6 weeks for its manufacture. If you having bespoke furniture made to your special dimensions then 6 weeks is the absolute minimum you should allow for your equipment to be made. Also if you are ordering from a company who offers a personal installation service with their delivery you need to notify them well in advance of your opening date to ensure that a delivery date is booked for you.

A common error is that more money is spent on the aesthetics’ of the salon and the furniture takes ‘back stage’. Designers and architects are not necessarily the best authority to give you advice on therapy equipment. They know about the things they are qualified to do and that’s design and plan buildings, staircases, flooring, doors and perhaps can advise on plumbing and electrics etc. In our experience they do not have working knowledge of therapists and remember the business you are in is very, very specialist. If you can be lucky enough to have the chance to talk to an actual equipment manufacturer about your equipment needs they have the business knowledge combined with an in depth-product knowledge to best advise and give guidance. They will be well experienced in dealing with salons and spas on a daily basis and will know what will best works in your salon environment and, more importantly, what doesn’t work. They may highlight certain issues that you may not have even considered and would certainly not be considered by an architect.I'm looking to buy a Salon %26amp; Spa. What questions should I ask the owners.?
Number 1: Why are they selling the business? Could mean MANY things.

Number 2: What kind of competition is there?

Number 3: What costs/debt/problems are you inheriting?

Number 4: Is the location good, because that could make all of the difference? How long has this place been in business?

Number 5: Who is going to do the managing of daily activities of the business if it's not you?

Number 6: Think about who is going to leave the company should ownership change and how change might affect morale. Loyalty is huge

Number 7: Think about how much you know about the industry and how this salon %26amp; spa's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, going to affect you

Number 8: How has the advertising been done? If necessary, you should think about a new marketing strategy

Number 9: Look at the financials to see what the profitability is; cash flow statement, balance sheet, income statement, etc.

Number 10: How many times has the ownership changed? If it's many, that's a bad sign

Number 11: What is the mission statement, and if there's not one, you better creat one and create a vision for this business. You can't go anywhere as a business unless you know what direction you want to take it.

Number 12: how are you going to create value for your clients?

Number 13: How have you been keeping your employees happy?

Number 14: Will the culture of the business change and how will you manage that change and adapt to it if that happens?

Number 15: Ask YOURSELF how much you know about the health code regulations with this type of business.

There are so many other questions to ask, but I feel that these are pretty important questions. Something else to think about it what type of exit strategy and time frame you have to give it a try before you default on loans and foreclose on a business.

Well you can line the walls with full length mirrors, and in front of each mirror put one of the vanity desks, cos on those you can actually offer make-overs to other people. Add some nice lighting and the portraits of women that always come on the sims!

You would be surprised to know that the school of beauty in your area has a few people that go to school for that %26amp; are really reasonable.

Only $10- to $15 plus a tip and a teacher is watching to make sure it is done correctly. I've lost quite a few lashes after some stressful life's adventures... they last about 1-2 mo.'s ...

that is, if you don't use an abrasive eye make-up cleanser.

  • Short bangs? Do they look nice? And about salon cuts...?

Ok. I want to cut my bangs shorter. I have long, natural black hair, and I was planning on cutting my bangs a little above or at my mouth. Will that look ugly or punkish for a 8th grader?! I hate anything with a dab of punk. If anyone can give me pics of a style similar to that, I'd be grateful. :)

Also, is it possible to ask the stylist NOT to use the barrel brush while drying? It makes my hair SO afro like and CURLY, and I like my hair down, straight with a small wave. It looks so much better!

Please help? 10 points for best answer. Thanks. :)Short bangs? Do they look nice? And about salon cuts...?
you can tell the salon exactly what you want them to do and they will do it if not you need to find a different salon as for youre hair i would get layers all the way from the tip of the nose to the bottom to make it look girlyShort bangs? Do they look nice? And about salon cuts...?
    I think they look nice!

You TELL!!! the stylist ,what to do!

    You pay her!

Many stylists hate cute girls, because they are jealous...
Your hair would look great like that. my friends hair is like that and it looks awesome! you can tell the stylist exactly what you do and don't want.
